History of colloidal
silver
Prior to the introduction of antibiotics,
colloidal silver was widely used in hospitals and has been used
as a bactericide for at least 1200 years.
In ancient civilizations the wealthy
stored and ate their food from silver vessels to stop bacteria from
growing. It was observed that the ancient Greeks families who ate
from silver utensils were rarely sick and had very few infections.
The knowledge was passed on to kings, emperors, sultans and members
of their royal courts. American settlers often put silver dollars
in milk containers to delay its spoilage.
The old saying "Born with a silver
spoon in his mouth," is not a reference to wealth, but to health.
In the early 18th century, babies who were fed with silver spoons
were healthier than those fed with spoons made from other metals.
Silver baby pacifiers were widely used in early America because
of their beneficial health effects.
Not until the late 1800's did Western
scientists understand what had been known for thousands of years
- that silver is a powerful germ fighter.
History of the
uses of colloidal silver
Colloidal silver has been used to treat burns, wounds, infections,
fungal problems, skin conditions, eyes (as a weak solution), winter
ills and chills, warts, sinus congestion, foot sores, acne, gastric
irritations and blistering. It can also be used as an underarm deodorant
as it destroys the bacteria that break down substances released
by the sweat glands.
Colloidal silver has been used for
purifying water and air conditioning units.
Used on animals for abscesses and large
wounds, skin irritations, parasites, bites, Seedy Toe (horses) and
'Belly-up" in Goldfish.
Used on plants for fungal and viral
attacks. Spray diluted solution onto the leaves and add to the soil.
